In 1938, an Austrian company released the original Styriette, a gas-powered bicycle that predated other motorized bicycles by over 30 years. This unique bicycle had a beautiful classic design, high quality components, as well as a dynamic and powerful motor. It was truly ahead of its time. When it debuted at the Vienna spring fair, no one realized that its influence would resonate over 70 years later with a generation of electric bike riders.
Looking to reinvent this ground-breaking design, the engineers at BionX have developed the BionX Styriette Electric Bike. Retaining the original Styriette's standard of excellence, BionX decided to push the envelope a bit with their brand new 3-speed Integrated Gear Hub (IGH3) motor. This new design contains both a 3-speed internal geared hub, as well as a powerful 350-watt motor inside the hub of the rear wheel. It packs a similar punch to its antique cousin.
